Don’t miss this incredible project debuting on April 27th! In celebration of National Deaf History Month, Disney+ will release Songs in Sign Language, a reimagining of iconic musical moments from Frozen II, Encanto, and Moana 2.

Featuring “The Next Right Thing,” “We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” and “Beyond,” each sequence is newly animated in American Sign Language (ASL)👐

Created in collaboration with Deaf West Theatre, the project interprets each song through expressive movement, emotion, and visual storytelling, focusing on meaning and feeling rather than literal translation. A behind-the-scenes featurette will also accompany the release, highlighting the creative process behind this groundbreaking effort to expand accessibility and connection through animation.

DJ Kurs, artistic director of Deaf West Theatre, reflected on its impact: “The chance to bring our language into [Disney stories] was a historic opportunity to reach a global audience. Working on this project was very emotional. For so long, we have known and loved the artistic medium of Disney Animation. Here, the art form was adapting to us.”✨
