We are truly saddened by this situation and look forward to the day we can rebuild our team and bring great outdoor adventure opportunities to our community again.

As you are aware, the current COVID-19 pandemic has had far-reaching and dramatic effects on our community and across the nation. Throughout the past month, Metro Parks Tacoma has had to make many difficult decisions while taking into account the governor’s orders and guidance from public health experts. In doing so, we are having to say goodbye to a large part of our Metro Parks Tacoma family. We want to express our thanks to our staff for their service to the community.


To our rock star coworkers who we miss already: you've taught Tacoma to dance. To create. You’ve taught us to appreciate nature and to be healthy in mind and body. You've cared for our beloved parks and zoo animals. You’ve taught Tacoma kids how to grow through play. You’ve inspired dreamers and doers. We appreciate you and look forward to working beside you again in the future to create healthy opportunities to play, learn and grow.
