A decision in the Canadian courts has ordered Environment and Climate Change Canada to reconsider its decision to grant a permit that would have authorized construction of a massive radioactive waste disposal facility that would have wrecked the habitats of endangered and at risk species. The planned facility would be built less than 1.1 kilometers from the Ottawa River (Kichi Sibi), a watershed that provides drinking water to millions of Canadians.
