Volunteers get it done! Here’s part of the volunteer crew working on the Talkeetna Ridge Trail last weekend. We planted signs, cut roots, and improving drainage. Thanks to all the awesome volunteers and to our project partners the Talkeetna Gear Shop!

Alaska State Parks Mat-Su Region would like to give a huge shoutout to Alaska Nature Guides, Princess Tours, Friends of State Parks, Mat-Su, and ten rockstar volunteers who rolled up with a chipper and got to work helping Denali State Park staff clean up Veterans Memorial.

This crew brought the energy, the teamwork, lunch, and the muscle to help get the park ready for seasonal openings and we couldn’t be more grateful.

Thank you all for showing so much love for Alaska’s parks and public lands. We appreciate every branch hauled, every hour volunteered, and every helping hand!

We teamed up with Mt. McKinley Princess Lodge and Alaska State Parks to clean up the Alaska Veterans Memorial in Denali State Park. We thank and salute our veterans, and wish them a safe ride and dry roads on today’s Alaska Vets Motorcycle Run.

It was an honor and great pleasure to meet Susan Beeman at Beeman’s Cabin on Byers Lake in Denali State Park. Thanks for sharing the stories of your family’s Alaska life and adventures! We can’t wait to tell our guests all about it on our Byers Lake Nature Walk this summer. We spent the rest of the day doing a volunteer trail project to improve the trail for everyone. Thanks Susan!

Happy Earth Day! Thanks to the Denali Education Center for hosting Talkeetna’s 26th annual celebration. Hailey from the Talkeetna Gear Shop joined us, and we signed up 19 trail work volunteers! Stop by the shop to sign up for our May 30 event on the Talkeetna Ridge Trail.
We had a steady stream of folks perusing our nature curiosities, and our moose nugget game was a big hit with 64 guesses. There were 463 in the jar, so congrats to our winner.
Kudos to Talkeetna for sustaining this wonderful event year after year!

Trail time well spent!
Yesterday, we partnered with the Mat-Su Borough for a volunteer trail maintenance day in Talkeetna Lakes Park. We trimmed brush, picked up trash, and grubbed roots out of the tread with the awesome SCA trail crew.

These folks are out there all summer keeping our trails safe and beautiful—if you see them, be sure to thank them (and maybe even feed them)!

We love giving back to the places we guide in.

Summer’s here, and we’re hitting the trails! 🌞 🥾

This week we kicked off the season with our first hikes—and wow, it's been glorious. The ice has thawed, the birds are back, and Alaska has once again been engulfed in a blanket of vibrant greens. 🌲 🦢 🌱
