Trail time well spent!
Yesterday, we partnered with the Mat-Su Borough for a volunteer trail maintenance day in Talkeetna Lakes Park. We trimmed brush, picked up trash, and grubbed roots out of the tread with the awesome SCA trail crew.

These folks are out there all summer keeping our trails safe and beautiful—if you see them, be sure to thank them (and maybe even feed them)!

We love giving back to the places we guide in.

⚒️ 💪Yesterday at Byers Lake, our team traded hiking boots for work gloves and wheelbarrows! We spent the day repairing sections of the Byers Lake Trail washed out by last fall’s flooding, trimming back overgrowth, and picking up litter along our two miles of adopted highway near the trailhead. ♻️

While we worked, we were lucky enough to spot a pair of pectoral sandpipers—just one of many reminders of why we do this work. 🌿🪶

We don’t just say we’re an eco-conscious company—we walk the walk (literally)! Thanks to our hardworking guides, the trail is ready just in time for our guided Nature Walks at Byers Lake, which kick off TODAY!

Come explore, learn, and connect with this beautiful landscape alongside our team. We can’t wait to share it with you. 🌲💚

🌱 Spring has officially sprung in Talkeetna, Alaska — and one of the first, most thrilling signs is here: the fiddlehead fern! These tightly coiled wonders are beginning to unfurl across the forest floor, and locals know they’ll be ready to forage and feast on in no time. In fact, with Alaska's wild seasonal shifts, this moment of spring will pass in a blink — our growing season is short, intense, and absolutely magical. 🌞🌿

Fiddleheads aren’t just a beautiful sign of rebirth — they’re also delicious! Sautéed with garlic and butter, tossed into pastas, pickled, or served with wild-caught salmon, they’re a true taste of the northern forest.

Whether you’re here to hike, forage, or simply marvel at nature’s transformation, now is the time.

Ever seen a river that looks like it's braided? You're probably looking at the work of glaciers in action! 🏔️

📍Denali State Park offers epic views of the Chulitna River, a glacially-fed beauty that weaves across the landscape in ever-changing patterns.

💧 In summer, melting glaciers grind away at bedrock and send super-fine sediment—aka glacial silt—rushing downstream. When the flow slows down, the silt settles and splits the river into multiple twisting channels. That’s how we get those mesmerizing braided rivers!

🖼️ It’s nature’s art in motion—shaped by rock, ice, water, and time.
