Wait, did Carnival just introduce a cruise deal that's actually a good deal?
Cruise lines love advertising huge discounts, but when you actually do the math, the savings aren't always what they seem (looking at you, Royal Caribbean). Carnival's new FunPacks, though, look pretty impressive.
Carnival is introducing 4 new bundles that combine drinks, Wi-Fi, and other perks like specialty dining and shore excursions. And looking at the numbers, there's some real value here.
They even introduced a new mid-tier drink package called CHEERS! Social, which includes 3 alcoholic drinks per day and unlimited non-alcoholic drinks.
Of course, there are catches. Of course, you're only saving money if you were planning to buy those things anyway.
The bundles are available to purchase through October 30 for sailings through December 2027.
But there's one other part of Carnival's announcement I'm not so thrilled about. Starting December 1, they're getting rid of fixed pricing for drink and Wi-Fi packages in favor of dynamic pricing, similar to what Royal Caribbean and Celebrity do. That's good news for Carnival shareholders but not so much for cruisers.
