The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Leon County today, Monday, July 28, from noon to 7 p.m. While the County is under increased risks of heat illness, the County’s downtown Main Library, 200 W. Park Ave., will operate as a relief center today during regularly scheduled hours (location info at www.LeonCountyLibrary.org).

As a relief center, the downtown Main Library offers air conditioning, seating, water and restroom access, as well as the usual library activities and materials. While everyone is at risk from the dangers of extreme heat, some groups are more vulnerable to heat-related illnesses. Leon County urges residents to practice heat safety and check on the most vulnerable in our community. Learn more at https://www.weather.gov/safety/heat.
