Have you ever wanted to drive a Steam Train? Here's your chance - book you stay and enjoy this great event Pioneer Tunnel Coal Mine and Steam Train

We still have time slots open for our popular upcoming Hand on the Throttle event ! There's one time slot left on Saturday, November 1st, and several for Sunday, November 2nd.

We recently added Friday, October 31st as an extra day, and we've got plenty of time slots open for you that day. Spend Halloween with us, and operate our Lokie in costume if you'd like!

This is your opportunity to step into the engineer's shoes for 30 minutes and get hands on the throttle training while you operate the Pioneer Tunnel's vintage mine Lokie LVCC #123. Under the tutelage of an experienced steam engineer, you will operate our narrow-gauge 0-4-0 switcher up our 3/4-mile track on the side of Mahanoy Mountain and back down.

While you fulfill your dream of being a steam engineer, you will also be supporting the restoration of our second Lokie, the LVCC #119.

Knoebels Amusement Resort is less than an hour's drive from The Village. a great day trip. It's one of Owner Carolee's "must visit" places in the Summer! And in Fall - they have amazing decorations for Fall!
