😊 A friendly reminder for travelers interested in visiting synagogues during their journeys:
🕍 Please do not assume you can simply walk into a synagogue, especially in destinations with small Jewish communities. Security requirements are real, and most synagogue visits require advance arrangements, identification, and approval. When we include synagogue visits in our Jewish heritage itineraries, these visits are coordinated well in advance with local communities and security personnel. Passport copies are often required.
📅 If visiting a synagogue is important to your trip, please let us know during the planning stage. Last-minute requests are often impossible to accommodate.
😊 And one more thing: if you're standing outside a synagogue in Tangier at night, please don't call me asking me to open it! I promise I do not have a remote control for synagogues around the world. 😅
✈️ Travel Tip: This is exactly why we arrange synagogue visits well in advance as part of our Jewish heritage itineraries. Security clearance and community coordination take time, and last-minute access is rarely possible.
