Tomorrow, Taos Decides.

The future of Taos isn’t some distant idea.

It’s already here — in our classrooms, on our sidewalks, in our kitchens, our workshops and studios, and in the hearts of every neighbor who calls this place home.

Whether you’ve lived here for generations or just arrived, your voice matters. Because in a town like ours, local elections shape everything: From how we care for our youth, to how we protect our land, to how we build trust and safety across the region.

I’ve spent decades listening, leading, and lifting up Taos — not with promises, but with partnerships.

I believe in a Taos that grows with its people, not past them. A Taos that welcomes new energy while honoring deep roots. A Taos where artists, elders, workers, and youth all have a place — and a future.

So tonight, ask yourself:

What kind of Taos do you want to wake up to tomorrow?

Then show up.

Vote with your heart, your hopes, and your history in mind.

Because when Taos speaks together, it cannot be ignored.

Dan Barrone Makes the Case for Experienced, Results-Driven Leadership to Unite Taos

At the Taos mayoral forum hosted by True Kids 1, the Taos Chamber, and Taos News, Dan Barrone laid out a clear, results-driven vision for Taos:

✅ Fight for funding to protect our hospital & essential services
✅ Cut red tape to build affordable housing
✅ Invest in youth spaces like the ice rink & Little League fields
✅ Create better-paying jobs to keep young Taoseños home
✅ Work regionally to unlock resources and get things done

🗣️ “We have a beautiful community — and a real opportunity to come together and make great things happen. I’m running to lead with experience, unity, and action.” — Dan Barrone

Let’s build a stronger, more united Taos — together.

Look for it - On sale tomorrow

In this week's edition, despite her move to California, local entrepreneur and philanthropist Polly Raye’s spirit remains infused in downtown Taos.

The New Mexico Department of Transportation closed the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge to pedestrians on Monday (Sept. 22) following a surge in su***de deaths at the site, including the death of a Taos teen.

After being stalled out for years, the 30-year-old Chamisa Verde affordable housing development off Paseo del Cañon is moving forward in 3D — 3D printing, that is.

Finally, a growing chorus of parents and families are calling for the overhaul of domestic relations proceedings in Taos’ 8th Judicial District Court.

All this and more in this week's paper.
