Beginning July 17th, you should be able to see the Perseid meteor shower. These wonders will be visible until the 24th of August. The best time for you be outside viewing this amazing astronomical phenomena are between the days of the 11th and the 13th of August. The best place to view is somewhere away from the lights of town - like right here at Adobe and Stars.

This is an ideal time to hike the most beautiful of Taos Ski Valley's trails: The Williams Lake Trail. There are liertally dozens of wild mountain flowers in bloom. It is cool and refreshing and spiritually rewarding. The trailhead is less than a half an hour from our front door!

Great hiking with Columbine and other wildflowers in full bloom. Adobe and Stars is within walking distance of The Columbine Hondo Wilderness Study Area in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, the southernmost chain of the Rockies. These mountains were pushed up around 20 million years ago, and are one of the youngest mountain ranges on earth. The northern boundary, along the Red River, sits at the base of a now extinct super volcano known as the Questa Caldera, which is said to have erupted 26 million years ago.

Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's on this dreamy hot dog day (Hot Dog Day? or Hot Dogday? or both?). It is said Taos is the solar capital of the world. Adobe and Stars Bed and Breakfast Inn might be called the sunset capital of Taos. We even have a room - La Puesta del Sol - named for the evening view with a second story deck upon which to take it all in.
