About 1/4" of Rain is forecast for the Regatta tomorrow, April 25th with temps in the high 60's. So bring some rain gear! Also the river is low running at just over 400 cubic feet per second (cfs), so the course will be bumpy in places. So fiber or Kevlar boats or boats that could be damaged by rocks are not advised.

Flow in Powell River will be low for the Regatta on Saturday April 25th. The Powell is free-flowing upstream and dependent on rainfall. We've had little in the last several weeks and the forecast shows rain is unlikely this week. Flow is now 480 cubic feet per second (cfs). The course will be "bumpy" in places and we suggest you not bring a boat that would be disabled if it hit a rock or went over a ledge.

The Regatta has nine race categories with cash prizes plus a recreational category if you just want a casual paddle with friends.

There is free transport back to the start line, and each paddler with get a classy free t-shirt and free raffle ticket with great prizes to be won.

If you would like to camp at the Start Line the night before the 9th Annual Powell River Kayak & Canoe Regatta on Saturday April 25th, you can register at: https://www.wellbeingretreatcenter.org/regatta

Well Being Retreat Center is a licensed campground. The extensive fairly level mowed pasture along the river is available for tent camping ($25 per person per night) There are nice men's and women's bathrooms with showers nearby, picnic tables, outdoor grills, and potable water. Well Being Retreat Center will serve supper the night before the Regatta in the Main Conference Building ($15) and a full service hot breakfast ($10) the morning of the Regatta at the Powell River Pavilion - a short walk from the Start Line.

The Friday night supper will be spaghetti with organic locally produced beef, green beans, garlic bread, organic green salad with celery, carrots, and cukes, and "Chocolate Creme de Pot" for dessert.

Saturday breakfast will be scrambled organic pastured eggs, oatmeal with nuts and raisins, and bananas with teas and Starbucks coffee.
