Best Disney experience with small children.

I think you can’t go wrong with Disneyland Resort in California. Everything is within easy walking distance. No need to catch a bus to get from one park to the other. Your hotel room is so close you can just walk to it, let the little ones take a nap, then walk back to either park. The two parks, Disneyland Park and California Adventure Park, are separated by a 250 feet area called the Disney Esplanade.

What you will remember most are the sunsets. The first sunset is taken from Playa El Coco. We ventured off property and took a cab to catch this sunset. Then the next day we hiked up to a beautiful vantage point above the resort to catch these pictures of the sunset.

What is there to do in Costa Rica? Besides the activities at the resort there are lots of excursion options to choose from. Deep sea fishing, zip lining or ATV adventures. We chose the Magic of the Rainforest with our friends at Tours with Frank the Tank. We experienced water falls, wildlife, coffee and Cacao production and just the beauty of the rainforest on a hike. Words don’t do it justice. Maurice and Ado did a fantastic job of showing us the sites and educating us on so much about this beautiful country.

The Secrets Papagayo Resort is in Guanacaste Province on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. The resort is beautifully landscaped and birds and other wildlife make themselves at home there. The resort is spread out with most buildings just consisting of two bungalows. There are two pool areas, the main pool located in the middle of the resort with shops, restaurants, bars and the activities desk is the center of action. The relaxation pool located at one end of the report features the Spa, restaurant and bar. It is quiet and never very crowded. The restaurants include Italian, Asian and grilled seafood selections. There is also a buffet that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Because the resort is spread out there are shuttles that you can request to pick you up and get you anywhere in the resort. Unless you are into walking hills, I would recommend the shuttle. The onsite activities included kayaking, snorkeling, hiking, and pickle ball. There was a different show every night at 8:30 and usually ends around 9:00PM. The resort winds down around 10:00 which was perfect for us! Next time we will look at what to do while visiting Costa Rica.

The Secrets Papagayo Resort is in Guanacaste Province on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. If you are looking for white sand beaches this is not the resort for you. Don’t get me wrong, they have a very walkable beach and in its own way a beautiful beach. It is just not white sand. Costa Rica has five active volcanoes and as a result much of its beaches are covered in black sand. Which is so different it makes this resort very unique. It remained me a lot of the big island of Hawaii. Another reason we loved this resort was it is so quite and very private. We stayed in a Preferred Club Ocean View King Bungalow. It had great views and was so quiet. A great place to enjoy the morning cup of coffee. Next we will talk about the resort and what it offers.
