Tennessee’s Cherohala Skyway Best Stops Road Trip takes you on a route along one of the most scenic drives in the southeast to visit nine memorable stops between Tellico Plains and the mountains of western North Carolina:

📍Charles Hall Museum
📍Tellico Beach Drive-In
📍Bald River Falls
📍Baby Falls
📍Indian Boundary Recreation Area
📍Turkey Creek Overlook
📍Santeetlah Overlook
📍Huckleberry K**b Trail
📍Cheoah Dam

Begin at the Charles Hall Museum, home to thousands of items tied to local and Appalachian history, before grabbing an old-fashioned burger, hot dog, shake, or ice cream at the Tellico Beach Drive-In. Follow the Tellico River to Bald River Falls, one of Tennessee’s most beautiful roadside waterfalls, and nearby Baby Falls, where the river tumbles over a wide rock ledge. Indian Boundary Recreation Area adds a peaceful 96-acre mountain lake, swimming beach, picnic spots, and a trail around the water. Once on the Cherohala Skyway, stop at Turkey Creek Overlook for layers of forest-covered mountains and Santeetlah Overlook near the highest section of the drive. Stretch your legs on the Huckleberry K**b Trail, leading across grassy mountain country to sweeping views from around 5,560 feet. Finish with a slight detour to the massive Cheoah Dam, completed in 1919 and famously seen in The Fugitive.
