Amorgos Aegialis Hotel & Spa has been very busy indeed! As all hotels in Greece, they were closed from March to June, and they used that time proactively, doing several renovations on the hotel grounds. Their brand new "Apeiro" lounge and cocktail bar is ready to welcome you, featuring amazing views to the sea of Aegiali and ample space, which will ensure social distancing among guests.
They also renovated several rooms and suites, installed a whole new lighting system at the front entrance, and elevated the swimming pool level to be a safer option for all.
They also embarked on a new project, the A-Mask, which started off as an idea to create premium quality fabric face masks for our guests, but quickly turned into a whole new business. A lot of locals were employed and they were very happy to be occupied at a period when the whole country was on lockdown. They have now sold thousands of quality reusable face masks in Greece and abroad, in a variety of colors and playful designs and consisting of 100% organic cotton and muslin, which are also eco friendly since they are not disposable.
Greece has succeeded in drastically limiting the coronavirus spreading, recording a very low number of people infected. This fact renders Greece one of the safest countries in the world. Moreover, Amorgos is one of the safest places in Greece, as there has not been a single case of the virus on the island.
At the moment, the film "Daughters" is being shot in Amorgos, a German/Italian/Greek co-production and the first movie to be shot in Greece after the lockdown was lifted. They assist the filming crew with daily catered meals and they're very excited that an international production is taking place, as this film will place Amorgos once again in the spotlight, as "The Big Blue" did many years ago.
Their 5* Aegialis Hotel & Spa has been proactive in its cleaning and disinfecting procedures and has been one of the first businesses in Greece to have obtained the Covid-Shield by TUV AUSTRIA Hellas, after an extensive inspection of our hotel. In addition, they recently received the "2020 Recognition of Excellence" award by HotelsCombined, a Booking.com subsidiary, as a recognition of our 5* services and the favorable ratings of their guests.
Their annual Elysia Yoga Convention has been transferred to November 2-9, 2020 as our regular March dates coincided with this year's lockdown and halt of all gatherings and conventions.
Right after that, their annual Amorgos Tourism Film Festival is taking place between November 10-15, with the attendance of journalists, producers, and artists from the 4 continents.
In December, a Yoga Teacher Training with renowned yoga and pilates instructor, Miriam Indries, will take place and it will be an immersive 22-day program, where yoga enthusiasts will have the opportunity to receive their training and teaching license, while enjoying 5* services and hospitality at Aegialis Hotel & Spa.
Having reopened on June 1 and while observing the international developments of coronavirus, they are positive that the best is ahead of us and after the turbulent first semester of 2020, from now on they will have the opportunity to reconnect with you in their safe and sound island and treat you to the hospitality you so deserve, with special rates, that you can find on their website: https://amorgos-aegialis.com/
