Moon Child. 🌕
This past June, I ventured to Enseñada, Mexico, and danced through four nights with over a hundred hermanas de Mexicana. We fast throughout the ritual and each night begins with us entering the sweat lodge at sundown and closing the night with another sweat lodge at sunrise.
The moon dance was an incredibly powerful experience that touched my heart in a very unique way.
It blends the essence of somatic movement and purification with the lineages of Latin and Lokata principles that have resonated deep within me over the years.
I was one of three non native speakers - providing an experience for myself very different than the remainder of my sisters in the space.
Rather than listening and understanding - it was an experience of complete feeling for me. Resonating with the energy of the activities and prayers being placed versus being sold and told what to feel.
We prayed for the waters, for our blood, for our families, for our tears, for our children, for our soil, and for our human race.
I, myself, will be leading a women’s group to Mexico next year.
I had a stall in opening registration, needing to sort some business kinks out, but the paths are blockages are clearing.
