Terre Haute South Vigo High School senior Bryson Pezan wants to pursue a career in aviation maintenance, and a new program at the West Central Indiana Aviation Academy will help

Yesterday, we proudly celebrated the long-awaited ribbon cutting of the West Central Indiana Aviation Academy, located at the Terre Haute Regional Airport!

The community truly came together to support this incredible new program, which will provide students with hands-on opportunities to explore careers in aviation—whether it’s becoming a pilot, air traffic controller, aircraft mechanic, or pursuing other high-flying roles in the industry.

Programs like this create vital pipelines from the classroom to the workforce, helping students build real futures in high-demand fields.

We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended and to all who have supported this vision from the beginning. So many individuals played essential roles in bringing this dream to life.

Special thanks to Mayor Sakbun, the Vigo County Commissioners, Anthony Rubinacci (representing Congressman Mark Messmer), the Vigo County School Corporation, the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce, the Airport Board of Directors & staff, the West Central Indiana Aviation Advisory Committee and countless others who helped make this event and program possible.
