With the Besse Hotel in Pittsburg Kansas in the news again with their renovations to the building I'm curious to know if any of the workers have felt anything?

I think it's pretty awesome they are using PSU's construction intern/students on this project.
It will house students with 52 apartments and 62 beds.

Now I'd like to share the time that we were asked to investigate the building. And the report given at the time.

Investigation Date: Saturday, October 5, 2013

Neosho County Paranormal set up cameras in the basement, where activity in the form of fire pumps going off was reported, and on the 11th floor. After reviewing our video footage, we captured nothing unusual. However, we did record very high readings on our K2 meter, which is designed to detect electromagnetic fields and potentially spirit energy. We always take base readings to determine what's normal and what's not.

The high readings in the basement can be attributed to the high-voltage equipment. These readings can also cause people to feel paranoid or uneasy. We've found no evidence of spiritual activity in the basement.

Regarding the reports of cowboy boots on the 9th floor, we believe we've found a logical explanation. There's a closet full of equipment on this floor that could be causing the loud noises and clicking sounds, which might be mistaken for footsteps. Since this equipment is almost directly above a tenant's apartment on the 8th floor, it's likely what's being heard.

A significant part of our investigation involves debunking, where we try to find logical explanations for the phenomena before considering spiritual factors. We also investigated the doorbell ringing issue and discovered that the sensor type could be triggered by other electronic devices. Unfortunately, we found no evidence of spiritual activity in this case either.

On one of the floors (the 11th), we noticed a large piece of equipment that looked like a modem. Our IT specialist and cameraman researched it and determined it's used to run antennas on the roof for the police department. This equipment can cause high readings on our K2 meter.

However, it's worth noting that the 12th floor felt different from the other floors. Many of my investigators had personal experiences, especially at the end of the hallway leading into a room with a bathroom. I saw a shadow in that room, and our K2 meter was triggered, despite there being no electricity in the room. While we're not ruling out the antenna on the roof as a potential cause, these experiences were notable.

We conducted an EVP session on the 12th floor, which captured some unexplained noises and potentially a response to a question. While the recording is hard to follow, it's something we'd be happy to share with you.

Overall, the Besse was relatively quiet during our investigation. Given the building's age and history, it's possible there could be some residual imprints of time left behind.

Neosho County Paranormal would like to thank you for allowing us to investigate your building. If there's anything we can do for you in the future, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Best regards,

I'd Like to add I believe the elevator stopped at the 8th floor so any floor after that we had to walk the stairs with our equipment. 😳

Came up in my Facebook memories 2019

I watched a show on AMC today that discussed the Catholic Church and the Vatican. The conversation turned to demonology, with the surprising revelation that there are more demonologists within the Catholic Church now than ever before. One of the speakers even claimed that he didn't believe in demons.

Ironically, I had just finished my class on Angels and Demons, where we listened to a chilling recording of what was believed to be demon voices captured at a ritual site. After hearing that clip, I'm convinced that demons are, in fact, real. The experience was both terrifying and disturbing.

It also made me reflect on the importance of being mindful of what we worship. There are many people experimenting with forces they don't fully understand, without considering the potential consequences. I, for one, have no desire to end up in the realm where those unsettling voices emanate from. It's a truly frightening thought.

Curious if any of our viewers have experienced this?
If you have, sure would like to hear your story.

The "Third Man Syndrome" is a psychological phenomenon where people in extreme survival situations, such as mountaineering, polar expeditions, or solo sailing, report experiencing an unseen presence, often described as a third person, that accompanies them and provides comfort, support, and guidance.

This phenomenon was first described by Sir Ernest Shackleton, a British explorer, who experienced it during his Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition in 1914-1917. Since then, many others have reported similar experiences, including adventurers, astronauts, and even people in near-death experiences.

The "Third Man" is often described as a benevolent, reassuring presence that helps individuals cope with stress, fear, and uncertainty. While its exact nature is unknown, it's thought to be a psychological coping mechanism, a manifestation of the brain's ability to create a comforting presence in times of need.

The term "Third Man Syndrome" was popularized by John Geiger's 2009 book, "The Third Man Factor: The Secret to Survival in Extreme Environments.
