In honor of todays opening of the Festival of the Arts in EPCOT, please enjoy this picture with my favorite purple dragon, Figment. Fun fact-Figment was around in the late 80s and 90s (in 1990 was actually when I first met him, as a puppet on my first trip to EPCOT). He did wind up going away for a little while and after enough Disney fans expressed their interest in him did he come back. He had is own ride which is a cult classic (it’s sensory for those who need a bit of a preview) it is a great way to get some AC and just enjoy sights and sounds of our imagination. What would you find at Festival of the Arts? You’d find chalk paintings, great food, interesting popcorn buckets, you can even be apart of the festival of the arts by help paint a mural by number! Did you know that in EPCOT you can take a picture with Walt Disney himself? In a semi hidden garden called “Dreamers Point” there is a newly bronzed statue of Walt looking out over EPCOT. It’s within walking distance of Moana Journey of Water and close to Connections which is where you can get some food and shop! This was definitely a bucket list item for me last week. Recently I got a chance to spend do something that truly scared me, I took the first flight out of NYC and thanks to I was able to hit 3 parks in 1 day. Started my day in Hollywood Studios to say “goodbye” to Muppet Vision 3D, an attraction near and dear to my heart. I found myself in Pixar Place where I saw Joy, Mrs. Incredible and Edna Mode herself! I skylined over to Epcot to go onto Guardians of the Galaxy, got my picture with Figment and Walt himself! Then i took the monorail over to Magic Kingdom where I said hello to the boss himself, Mickey! I wound down my day with the Festival of Fantasy Parade and a dole whip (not pictured). What did this teach me? TAKE THE TRIP! Disney during the holidays was pure excitement and magic. Want to know more? Send me a DM, let’s talk about your next adventure for 2025!
