Big news in the Daily Sun today about the future of The Villages!

A massive new project called Legacy Place is coming to the southern area of The Villages along Florida’s Turnpike near County Road 470 and Central Parkway. This 700-acre mixed-use development will bring together retail, dining, business, entertainment, wellness, and healthcare all in one connected destination.

An 80-bed AdventHealth hospital with emergency and surgical services is planned as the anchor of the project. Construction is expected to begin in 2027, with an anticipated opening in 2030.

According to the article, Legacy Place will feature:
✅ 3 million square feet of walkable public spaces
✅ Unique restaurants and shopping experiences
✅ Expanded healthcare access for the growing region
✅ New jobs and long-term investment in Central Florida
✅ A major new southern gateway into The Villages

With growth continuing across Lake, Sumter, and Marion counties, projects like this show just how quickly the area is evolving.
