Congratulations to Jorge Rodriguez - Desert Jet Center Line Service Technician Lead and recent recipient of the prestigious Jackie Award!

Named after aviation legend Jacqueline Cochran, the Jacqueline Cochran Award of Excellence recognizes team members nominated by their peers for outstanding performance, service, and commitment to safety.

Here are some of the comments from Jorge's peers in his nomination: "He leads by example. You always know that if something needs to be done, he will make sure it gets done." "He is always going above and beyond. He works long hours whenever needed, is always busy with tasks that aren't even asked of him, and he always has a positive attitude." "He is like the Energizer Bunny! When the rest of us are super tired, he is right there, getting the job done and encouraging others to keep at it."

As part of this award, Angel Flight West receives a donation in the award recipient's name from Desert Jet to fund flights for passengers like Asher, who was born at just 25 weeks, weighing only 1 pound 14 ounces. He spent 164 days in the NICU, had a tracheotomy at 3 months old, a feeding tube placed at 4 months, and heart surgery at 22 months. Asher's care now takes him over 250 miles from home to a Children's Hospital in Stanford, where he's had five airway surgeries since October 2024. That travel would be nearly impossible without Angel Flight West.

"Angel Flight West service is nothing short of heroic," said Charlene, Bradley's mom. "They are more than just pilots and organizers; they are angels in the truest sense of the word, embodying compassion, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to helping those in need."

Now 11, Asher was recently honored as an "unsung hero" in his community, and he never forgets the pilots who've helped him along the way. We are proud to support Angel Flight West and public benefit flying through our employee recognition program.
