We had a fantastic time tonight at the City’s Historic Finch Field for the High Point-Thomasville HiToms game celebrating Thomasville’s unsung heroes at the 4th annual Thomasville Star's Night! The HiToms came back in the 8th then pulled it out in the 9th for a winning night! It was a great game!

Thank you to everyone who came out to support these incredible people who do so much for our community. We will work as fast as we can editing our professional photos to get them posted. In the mean time enjoy the most adorable toddler having a blast at the game with one of our 250 fans. These fans created by Cheryle Parrish are free for anyone. You can come in the Depot and grab a few anytime! We are open 9:00-5:00 m-f (sometimes closed for lunch from 1:00 - 2:00)

Last night I spent a long time talking with one of the owners of Southern Treasures in downtown Thomasville, and I haven't stopped thinking about our conversation.

She and her best friend own the store together and they do not live in this area. They didn't already have a customer base here. But they saw something special in our downtown and decided to invest in it anyway.

They poured their savings, their creativity, and countless hours into opening Southern Treasures at 42 W. Main Street.

And then she told me something that honestly broke my heart. 💔
There have been days when no one came through the door.
Not one customer.

As a result, they've had to reduce their hours and are currently open Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

We all talk about wanting new businesses downtown. We talk about wanting people to invest in Thomasville. We talk about supporting local.

These ladies actually did it.

The owner hand pours the candles herself. They carry boutique clothing, Stanley’s, gifts, jewelry, purses, and unique finds, and they're constantly running specials and promotions. But what I heard last night wasn't inventory on shelves—it was two women chasing a dream and trying to make it work in a town they believed in.

⭐️ So I'm asking our community for a favor. ⭐️

If you've been meaning to stop by Southern Treasures, this is your sign. The next time you're downtown, take a few minutes to walk through the door, browse around, and introduce yourself. Every customer matters when you're building a small business from the ground up.

And whether you've visited before or not, I'd love for you to leave these entrepreneurs a word of encouragement in the comments. Starting a business takes a tremendous amount of courage, and sometimes a few kind words can mean more than you know.

💕Let's fill this comment section with some Thomasville love and remind them why they chose to invest in our community. 💕

Because if we want people to continue believing in Thomasville, we have to support the people who already do.
