Meet Anna Parker Harris, our October Small Town Superstar. Anna’s story is one of strength and resilience. A breast cancer survivor, she has faced a significant personal challenge with courage and grace, while continuing to give back to the people around her. With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, her story is a meaningful reminder of the strength within our community and the importance of supporting one another.
For 13 years, Anna served as an English professor at Augusta University, sharing her love of education and literacy with countless students. That passion continues today through her regular donations of books to the Thomson Public Library.
Anna also gives her time to the next generation as the “Den Mom” for her son’s Cub Scout group, creating meaningful experiences for local children and families. Today, she works alongside her family at David M. Parker Exterminating, a business that has also supported the Thomson-McDuffie School System.
Anna does not seek recognition for the things she does. She sees where she can help and does it. Whether through education, literacy, children, or community support, she consistently finds ways to give back.
That quiet commitment to others is what makes Anna Harris Parker a true Small Town Superstar.
