“The Smell of War” is not a joke. It is a serious sensory experience that affects everyone touched in conflict zones. There is a REAL reason why immersion is such an intense environment is hard to forget. Scent is the strongest human sense and produces actual physical responses. That’s why using scent as a layered nuance in live immersive training environments becomes a critical component to preparing for the field.
SensoryCo brings that science to mission realism, embedding scent cues that drive authentic human response under pressure. Scent conditions behavior. It heightens alertness, anchors memory, and simulates real stress. SensoryCo’s scent technology turns training into experience — preparing humans to perform when it matters most.

In cinematic production, it’s very important for set designers to position visual cues that can represent “unseen” sensory experiences that the audience can relate to because, simply, scents cannot jump off the screen. Intense themes, including death, decay, and unsanitary street scenes, can provide a visceral reaction.

SensoryCo creates immersive atmospheric scent systems to add realism to thematic set production. Whether setting the tone for the actors, creating a realistic atmosphere for thematic audience reaction, or providing a scent “connection” to specific moments...think the blueberry scene in the movie “HERETIC”, the primal atmospheres depicted in many epics depicting “The Plague” or a dramatic arch in a live concert performance.

SensoryCo scent systems provide an extra layer to the creative message that artists, designers, and set producers want to express. Impressions matter...make them unforgettable with the most powerful of the human senses..SMELL.

Snakes are sensitive to strong, pungent odors that disrupt their chemosensory receptors. Top scents that deter snakes include ammonia, naphthalene (mothballs), sulfur, garlic, onion, cinnamon, clove oil, and citrus/lemongrass.

Like snakes, a live audience can feel threatening. Sly, easily provoked when poked and poisonous if not impressed.

Designing thematic environments and events can be tricky. Adding fragrant scents or unpleasant odors as a sensory effect can elicit audience reactions that impact messaging and leave a memorable impression. Strike, stun, and leave your audience satiated.
