Ellie and I took a mom/daughter trip earlier this month and whenever she is asked how it was, she says amazing!

She may also usually follow it up by saying I got to scan my magic band every time when we took photos (always a point of contention with who gets to do that among the siblings) ... so that made it really awesome!

It really was a special trip that I hope she remembers as she ages. I'll be sharing some highlights and tips throughout the week.

7 years later and it’s still a dash at rope drop! If ever a ride was worth the wait, it’s this one!

Since its opening in 2019, Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure has been wildly popular. It blends thrills with amazing storytelling for an absolutely perfect coaster experience.

The problem with it being THE BEST RIDE AT UNIVERSAL, is that the waits can be really long. It’s not going to be part of the Universal Express Pass any longer, so you really are going to need a strategy. It’s worth the wait, but who wants to wait? How I do that is by either:

Rope dropping with Early Park Admission

Use the Single Rider Line

Hop in line at the very end of the night

Even if we don’t work together to plan your Universal vacation, please use this advice. Hagrid’s is NOT to be missed!

Since is Friday movie day at my house... I thought I would ask what you like to do at the parks!

Which is the ”right way” to end the night? Disney park days can feel long despite the trip going by so fast. How the days end, though, can make all the difference. Are you most likely to:

Stay in the parks until closing and plop into bed feeling accomplished but exhausted

OR

Head back to the hotel after dinner and catch a movie under the stars, feeling refreshed and relaxed before bed

While I am never one to give up on fireworks, on my non firework park days and rest day I love to have a relaxing evening with a movie under the stars. What about you?

Family of six? This might be music to your ears! Disney’s All-Star Music Resort is perfect for multi-generational family trips, ideal for when you have a larger crew, when you need a spot for a midday napper or a dedicated spot for Mom and Dad to unwind away from the kids after a long park day.

The larger than life theming around the resort, huge pools, and a food court will be music to the ears of even the pickiest of eaters. And of course, there will be Mickey shaped waffles for breakfast!

Don’t let the “Value” title fool you, these suites are spacious, accommodating up to six adults and have clean, modern lines that feel anything but budget. Two bathrooms in the suite will banish any hints of teenage sink sharing drama. The fact that the queen beds in the main living area can be pushed up for more floor space in the mornings is clutch for getting out to rope drop the parks on time.

Sometimes, when the parks are especially crowded, it is really nice to return to a space large enough to spread out and relax.

While we haven't rented on a Disney World vacation we have on a trip to San Diego... and we still laugh whenever we see one about our ride together. The kid's area always asking for a redo so we just may try it again at Disney.

Go beyond hot, cold, frozen, or Butterbeer ice cream at Epic Universe! Inside Café L’air De La Sirène in the Wizarding World’s Ministry of Magic area, guests can now go beyond the classic frozen, hot, and cold Butterbeer drinks with specialty desserts like:

Butterbeer crepes

Butterbeer crème brûlée

I'm excited to try the crepes on my next trip here! The café itself is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. This is a quick service location, but it feels much more elevated and immersive than your average theme park fast food. No standing at the counter waiting for your order to be delivered, instead grab a seat and it is brought to you.

Did you know about this dino activity that hasn’t gone extinct at WDW?”} One of the most unexpectedly fun experiences for younger kids is actually over at Disney Springs inside the T-Rex restaurant. Yes, the restaurant itself is wildly themed with meteor showers, giant animatronic dinosaurs, and a prehistoric atmosphere…but the hidden gem for a lot of families is the Build-a-Dino experience.

For some, this becomes the souvenir they talk about long after the trip is over. I know my kids love to still sleep with their favorite plush they got on vacation.

Especially now that dinosaur experiences inside Disney parks feel a little more limited than they once were, this has become such a fun way to fill that niche for kids who are absolutely obsessed with all things prehistoric.

Im back from our girls trip! We enjoyed a leisurely breakfast, time on our balcony, and a short swim before heading home. Luckily our plane ride was much less eventful!
