A little honesty from your local travel agents today… ✈️
One of the hardest parts of this industry is watching people take the trips and promotions we spend HOURS researching, pricing, building, and creating… only to turn around and book them directly themselves.
And what’s frustrating is that for MANY vacations — Cruises, all-inclusive resorts,Hawaii, and more — the price is often the EXACT SAME whether you book direct or use a travel agent and lots of times its actually less due to the amount of suppliers we work with!
The commission is already built into the price either way so you are paying that no matter who you book with.
At other agencies , some advisors charge fees for certain types of trips and services, and some advisors charge fees for everything depending on how their business is structured but we do NOT do this and we dont want to have to do this either.
So instead of supporting a local small business, people will sometimes take the information we worked hard to put together and hand the booking right back to a giant corporation.
That’s also why we don’t always publicly post every single detail of our promotions anymore but we also do not charge a fee for our services in spite of too many situations where people screenshot our posts, use the information to shop around, and book elsewhere after we did all the work behind the scenes. It’s discouraging, exhausting, and honestly heartbreaking at times.
