Scott shares the momentum happening at Defiance College, including two of its largest incoming classes of the past decade and a strong focus on students and families right here in Northwest Ohio. He also explains the 1850 Promise, which creates opportunities for eligible students to pursue a debt free education.

They also dive into Jacket Journey, a unique career readiness program that starts freshman year and continues throughout all four years. By working with regional employers to understand the skills they need, Defiance College is helping students graduate ready to turn their education into a career.

✨ In this episode of Taylor Community Connection, Terry Crosby sits down with Dr. La’Shardae Scott, President and CEO of the Scott Center for Observation, Treatment and Transition , to talk about turning a deeply personal experience into a mission to help other families. ❤️

After two of her sons were diagnosed with sickle cell disease, Dr. Scott saw firsthand how difficult it can be to navigate healthcare, education, and available resources. What began as an idea for her doctoral capstone project grew into an organization dedicated to closing health disparities, empowering families, and helping people access the support they need.

They also look ahead to the Heal Together: Race for Sickle Cell 5K Run/Walk on September 19 at Ottawa Park. Taylor Automotive Family is proud to serve as a Platinum Sponsor and continue a partnership rooted in family, community, and making an impact that lasts beyond the event.
