It's about that time for my semi-annual post to social media. For some reason, folks still use these platforms to search for guides, so I'll abide a couple times per year.

Note:

I publish weekly reports on my website and send them out to a large distro list every Sunday via email. If you want to receive those reports, tap the link below to subscribe.

If you DM me or comment on a post, I likely won't respond for weeks, if at all. If you're serious about learning more, call - I'll never book a trip with someone unless we have a conversation.

A Message to Canadian Anglers Fishing in U.S. Waters

Situation: Ontario has a closed bass season. Our part of New York does not - it’s catch and release only, artificial lures only, until June. Canadians are taking advantage of this and adding A LOT of pressure to our water - protecting the fish that spawn on their side of the border, and beating on the fish that spawn on ours. There’s nothing illegal about this - but it’s a problem.

Because we can’t change Ontario regulations to reflect ours and no moral plea will keep Canadians out of our water, we have a small ask - DON’T SPOT LOCK - JUST DRIFT. Putting aside how greedy spot locking is (beating on a group
group of fish for prolonged periods is just weird), it creates traffic issues in wind and current.

You’re fishing in U.S. water, please respect local custom/etiquette.
