While you're traveling on the Flint Hills Scenic Byway, stop and grab a bite to eat at the historical Hays House. First opened in 1857, you can enjoy fine dining in the oldest, continuously operated restaurant west of the Mississippi River. They serve all the Midwest steakhouse staples and are particularly known for their homemade strawberry and peach pie.
