20 Days • 5 Countries • A Journey Robyn and I Will Never Forget 🌍💙
Our Black Sea River Trip has officially come to an end, and what an unforgettable adventure it’s been aboard our Grand Circle river ship, guided by an extraordinary crew who made every moment feel special.

🇷🇴 Romania – 6 days
From Bucharest’s buzz to the legendary Bran “Dracula” Castle, folk traditions, charming villages, and unforgettable kindness—including the hand-painted artwork gifted just to us—Romania set the tone for this soul-filled journey.

🇧🇬 Bulgaria – 3 days
Castles, countryside, deep history, and warm hospitality. Every day opened another chapter of this beautiful country.

🇷🇸 Serbia – 2 days
Belgrade’s energy, Hotel Moskva desserts with Ron and Ellen, evening street entertainment, and incredible onboard Serbian folk performances—Serbia was lively, proud, and full of heart.

🇭🇷 Croatia – 1 day
A meaningful stop. The highlight: a Home-Hosted Lunch in a Croatian village—home cooking, conversation, and connection. Those are the moments that stay with you.

🇭🇺 Budapest, Hungary – 2 days
A grand finale of Christmas markets, architecture, the Chain Bridge, riverside beauty, and the Parliament glowing over the Danube. And yes—the horses and guards in full parade… pure magic.

Budapest’s Parliament building was stunning, but today felt extra special—the horses and guards were in full parade, and watching them move with such precision against that iconic backdrop was a moment we won’t forget.

Budapest has completely won us over. The charm, the history, the architecture—every corner feels like stepping into a story. Cruising the Danube past the stunning Parliament and the iconic Chain Bridge, wandering the Christmas markets, discovering great little shops, and enjoying some truly amazing meals… this city has been pure magic from start to finish. Feeling grateful for every moment here. ✨🇭🇺

MS River Aria arrives in Croatia 🇭🇷
Crossing into Croatia feels like stepping into a fresh new chapter of this journey. Osijek — the capital of Slavonia — welcomed us with its easy charm, warm locals, and lively riverbanks. One of the highlights was being invited into a Croatian village for a Home-Hosted Visit with lunch — a wonderful chance to share stories, local flavors, and a bit of everyday life. Each stop along the Danube has its own magic, and Croatia truly left its mark on us.

Now we’re back on the boat, settling in as the MS River Aria carries us toward our next adventure: Budapest.

SERBIAN TRADITIONAL FOLK ENTERTAINMENT ON BOARD 🇷🇸

Tonight’s river-boat entertainment brought Serbia’s culture right to us—live music, colorful traditional costumes, and dancers who made the whole room feel alive.

The intricate embroidery, bold patterns, and bright colors of the folk costumes were stunning up close. Each region of Serbia has its own style, and seeing them performed with such pride was a highlight of the evening.

A perfect blend of rhythm, heritage, and that warm Serbian spirit that makes you feel instantly welcome.

Belgrade’s city center was buzzing today—shops, street vendors, and that lively Serbian energy around every corner. Earlier in the day we visited the Tito historical monument, a powerful glimpse into Serbia’s past.

We made a stop at the historic Hotel Moskva for a slice of their famous cake and a beverage, sharing the moment with fellow travelers Ron and Ellen.

As evening set in, we walked back toward the river boat, taking our time. The streets were filled with locals enjoying the night, music drifting through the air, and plenty of street entertainment to watch along the way. A perfect Belgrade night.
