Sleeping Rainbow Adventures is proud to announce a backpacking trip for April 2024! Join us in exploring the Halls Creek Narrows on a 3 day, 2 night trip to the southernmost point of Capitol Reef National Park. Get your feet wet on beginner friendly trip to a beautiful slot canyon oasis. Contact us for prices and to reserve a spot on our waitlist- exact dates are TBD but we will work with our interested guests to determine the best time for the entire group to go.

Mileage would be 8.5 miles on day 1, 3.5-5.5 miles for a day trip in the slot canyon on day 2, and 8.5 miles out on day 3.

We have all the gear you’ll need and will provide all meals, as well as transport to the remote trailhead to start. Reach out with any other questions you may have!

We are looking for Outdoor Adventure Guides with a passion for the outdoors and excellent customer service/people skills. We think we have the best office in the world! We want to show people the possibilities for adventure they never knew existed, and leave them convinced that our underappreciated home deserves as much love as Zion or Moab. Our company values include protecting the outdoors (Leave no Trace ethics), safety for our guides and guests, respect and open communication with our employees. We want to provide a professional, organized environment in a field that is often chaotic and stressful - but we also want to let your unique skills and personality shine!

Our season runs from March until November, with peak months in May and September. An average week would be 30-40 hours per week, but you will be expected to work more during our peak season.

All guides operating vehicles with guests must be at least 25 years old (internships available if you're under, inquire via direct message). We aim to provide a fun, high-energy experience for our guests that is also highly informative on the local geology, history, and ecology- The willingness to learn this information is a must. Excellent driving skills are also required and you must have a current driver's license and clean driving record. We can provide training on the 4x4 skills but prefer previous offroad driving experience.

***All guides must have current CPR/First Aid certification. Guides leading overnight trips will need a current WFR.***

First time guides start at $18 an hour, but if you have additional skills and experience we could pay you as high as $30 an hour. The tips are great, usually about $50-100 per day! We currently do not have housing available, but can provide you with either a $500 stipend for housing, or a tent site at a campground with nice amenities. Dispersed camping is readily available and easy if you want to bank your housing stipend, you would have access to the amenities and showers at the campground when needed if that is the case.

We are so excited for 2023! One thing we’re looking forward to is the permanent addition of a Unistellar eVscope 2 at our stargazing programs. This digital telescope is totally unique from other telescopes: its able to remove light and enhance the night sky to show off the detail and color of deep space objects! These same objects appear as smudges in a traditional telescopes, still very cool for us star nerds, but if you want to see the swirl of galaxies and nebula as seen in astrophotography, this is the only way to experience in real time with your human eyes!
It also takes amazing photos, which we’re happy share with you after our 1-2 hour tour!
Stargazing tours will begin at the end of April and continue through October. Come see one of the darkest skies in the USA and learn about space at our stargazing program in Capital Reef National Park this year!
