Here is a GREAT opportunity to grow a business that has been held back by my own unwillingness to return to my pre-COVID fleet size, office staff, and driver roster. It's time for me to retire.

Traverse City is quickly becoming the "Honolulu of the Midwest." Named in a countless variety of Top-10- lists across the publishing world, the entire region has exploded with a variety of special interest reasons drawing over 700,000 annual visitors through just the airport alone (TVC is the 3rd busiest airport in Michigan!) Our busiest airport season is Summer followed by Fall where tours are popular with the 33 wineries, dozens of brew pubs, and eleven distilleries in the area.

Grand Traverse Limousine holds the oldest limousine phone number in the region (231-946-LIMO) and provides service to our own customer base as well as national affiliates through both Limo Anywhere and GRiDD powered by GNet.

To bolster business during the pandemic, I became an active courier which continues to be a significant part of my sales volume. The courier business is for sale also.

I have driven past Guntzviller's Spirit of the Woods Museum in Elk Rapids literally thousands of times in my life. Why I've never stopped there is beyond me. I went there yesterday for the first time. My mind is officially blown. If you've never been, you owe it to yourself. The cover charge is on the honor system. A true treasure for the area for young and old alike. If you have grandkids, this is an excellent focal point for an outing. Amazing.

Although I go to TVC a few hundred times per year, it still shocks me how much it has grown. Here are the outbound direct flights for tomorrow, July 6, 2024. 16 cities! And Allegiant doesn't even fly to FL tomorrow. Amazing!

Many of you know that I have filed ZERO insurance claims in my 15 years as a limousine company, and even though I sound like an underwriter's dream customer, I have spent 2+ years buying insurance out of the "high-risk pool," the MAIPF, because no insurer was willing to sell insurance to me on the competitive market. All the underwriters who had competed for my business previously had left the State of Michigan due to the legal climate here.

The passenger-for-hire companies in Michigan are advocating for legislative changes that will improve the insurance landscape for all passenger transportation services—impacting everything from shuttle operations to non-emergency transport. These changes aim to create a fairer environment and invite more competition, potentially lowering the costs you pay for transportation.

Please consider supporting us by contacting your local State Representative or Senator to express your support for House Bills 5307-5308 and Senate Bills 904-905. Your voice can make a real difference in shaping policies that benefit us all.

Second trip of the day. M37 going south between Lighthouse Rehabilitation and M113. It was so slippery I did NOT hit my brakes but instead used what little traction there was to turn out of his way. Apparently, he braked in response to the car in front of him but in doing so, lost control of his vehicle and came into my lane. I was able to dodge the head-on collision but unable to dodge him entirely. Weirdly enough, no sheet metal was dented. He broke off my running board at the hinges and his mirror left a line of white paint down the side of my SUV from the rear door to past the fuel door.

My gratitude that no ambulance was needed outweighed all the other feelings combined.

I've thought of changing my name, especially since it has been a couple years since I've owned a stretch limo. Does "Limo" send the wrong message?

Perceptions of the vehicles have changed over the decades because of several factors, including the preference by some wealthy for 'quiet luxury'

I've picked up hundreds if not thousands of passengers from TVC and have never seen this before: passengers trapped behind the security gate. And this, after their planned midnight arrival finally landed at 3:15 A.M.

What to do when your vehicle breaks going into a weekend, you know you will have to fix it yourself, you watch a bunch of youtube videos to see if it is even something you can do yourself, and you want to use OEM parts but not pay OEM prices? We are so fortunate to have GENES AUTO PARTS and East Bay Auto Parts in our city. They are both easy to work with, fairly priced, & convenient!!! I really appreciate them this week.

I unintentionally set a record of sorts for myself yesterday: I crossed the 45th parallel three times on three different highways on the same day. Sometime after midnight., I passed the 45th sign on US131 on my way back from taking someone from the late flight up to Boyne Falls. I passed the 45th sign on M22 on my way to pick up someone from Leland to go out on the early flight, and about 4:30 p.m. I passed the 45th parallel sign on US31 taking someone from TVC up to Charlevoix.
