On our final day in Morocco we travelled from Fes to Rabat, the capital city. We stopped at the Royal Palace, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and the Hassan Tower. The weather was glorious. In Casablanca we visited the old Medina before a short rest at the hotel. The highlight was a wonderful farewell dinner at Rick’s Cafe. We enjoyed a four course dinner while listening to a 3 person jazz band. The mood was exotic. Pictures of Ingrid Bergman hung on a wall while the black and white version of the movie played on a screen. We then started our long journey back to Troy very early in the morning. Blessed to have no cancellations or flight delays this trip! We are all exhausted but content knowing we had a wonderful cultural experience, developed new friendships, renewed old friendships and made memories that will last a life time. I look forward to the next adventure with my Troy Travelers family!🥰

We took a step back in time as we toured Fes today. We wandered through the labyrinthine streets of the Medina. Witnessed the traditional leather dyeing process at the Chouara Tannery, a very unique and sensory experience. Discovered the Moroccan art of ceramics from start to finish. A highlight of the day was having the opportunity to sample many of the local Moroccan foods, including a camel burger! Fes is a truly a UNESCO World Heritage site and a living testament to Moroccan history and culture.

Today we traveled to the southern tip Spain to take a ferry to Morocco. Our third County and our second Continent. Beautiful lighthouse where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean. Then pictures with camels! Now on our way to Fes!

Next we discovered Seville, considered one of the most beautiful cities in Spain. It is famous for its Mudéjar architecture, which is a mix of Islamic and Catholic architectural styles. We also had the opportunity to have a paella cooking class! Paella is a rice dish and one of the best-known dishes in Spanish cuisine. The grand finale was experiencing the thrilling dance of a live flamenco performance. Seville is the city considered the birthplace of the Flamenco art form. "¡Olé!"

We started our Troy Travelers tour by exploring Lisbon, the exquisite Capitol city of Portugal, and its charming neighborhoods. Lisbon is known for its unique historical center, colorful azulejos (ceramic tiles), and fantastic food. It is also designated as an UNESCO World Heritage Site.
