What officials have said:
• The victims shared similar characteristics, but no link between the cases has been confirmed by authorities.

• No suspects have been announced, and there is no official serial killer designation at this time.
For travelers:
Jalisco is listed as “Level 3: Reconsider Travel” by the U.S. State Department due to crime and kidnapping. As always, we recommend heightened situational awareness, sticking to tourist areas, avoiding isolated locations, and registering with the U.S. Embassy.
We strongly urge everyone to avoid spreading rumors or unverified details. Misinformation can harm investigations and increase anxiety unnecessarily. We’ll share updates only from official sources like local police, the U.S. Embassy, AP, or Reuters once available.
Our thoughts are with the victims’ families and the Puerto Vallarta community.
