I just received my copy of Moosehaven News via e-mail. I tried to figure out how to paste the link here, but no luck. If you aren't getting e-mail newsletters from Mooseheart and Moosehaven, you can go to www.mooseintl.org and click on their respective links. You should also be able to sign up for e-mail news from both facilities. It's interesting and fun to see what our children and seniors are up to!

BTW, if you ever get the chance to visit our campuses, I highly encourage you to do so. I have been fortunate enough to visit both Mooseheart and Moosehaven, and once you have seen either of them it is hard for me to imagine NOT paying dues ever again. This is where you will see your money hard at work providing a paradise-like setting for our children and seniors.

When you see all that is done, you realize what a bargain $45.00 per year dues really is.

Our Lodge contributed $400.00 to CYFD this year for their annual school supplies drive for our local children. Administrator Daryl Conley met CYFD coordinator and Moose member Donna Sanchez at Walmart on Aug 19 and the items were purchased including writing paper, pencils, notebooks, erasers, crayons, high-lighters, marking pens, pencil sharpeners, etc.

Donna also stopped by the lodge later on that day and picked up the food in our food donation basket on behalf of Donna, the CYFD, and our lodge, we thank all our members who made such generous contributions to help our needy families!!

ATTENTION ALL NEW ONE MOOSE LODGE OFFICERS:
There will be a Lodge Leadership training at Alamogordo #2016 on Sat., September 4 from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. This is an all day course so plan on spending the entire day. Lodge will provide lunch.

I am also announcing a second training to be held at T or C lodge on Saturday September 18, also 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. Lunch will again be provided by the lodge.

Cost for the course is $20.00; ask your lodge Administrator about reimbursement (reimbursement policies differ between lodges).

THIS COURSE IN MANDATORY FOR ALL NEW OFFICERS and must be completed within 60 days of taking office. Since most lodges had late elections due to COVID now is the right time to attend. This course is also available on-line by going to www.mooseintl.org and clicking on the Training tab. The on-line course takes about eight hours also and you must pass an assessment test at the end to receive credit.

TRAINING IS GOOD FOR THREE YEARS; so if you were last trained in 2018 or before, it is time to renew. These classes are inter-active and we'll have a little fun while we are at it, so come on over to Alamogordo or T or C and complete your officer training!

Women members - check your Moose membership card. Some have been getting cards that just say "Chapter 1646." As of May 1, all women are lodge members, so you should have paid $45.00 dues for this year. District Meetings Starting again.

We held our first Black Range District Meeting since 2020 at our lodge on Sunday, July 18. Only our lodge and Las Cruces lodge were in attendance but there were several from each.

Las Cruces had 12 members and 4 officers; 4 of which were also Chapter members plus 2 chapter officers.
T or C had 9 members and 3 officers, 4 of which were also chapter members, plus 3 chapter officers.

Higher Degree Attendees: Moose Legionnaires - 9; Fellows -4; Pligrims - 2; Academy of Friendship - 4; Green Caps - 1; College of Regents - 3; and Past Senior Regents - 6.

Among the topics discussed was membership. Las Cruces has a large number of new and former member application and has seen their membership grow by 61 members. T or C likewise has seen a large number of application, and our membership has increased by over 30.

Las Cruces Lodge and Deming Lodge are now fully open for business; Silver City Lodge is open on a reduced hour schedule while they finish up some remodeling.

The Women of the Moose Chapter Rally will be held at Pine Top, AZ on August 5-7.

The next District Meeting will be held at the Las Cruces Lodge on Sunday, August 8 at 11:00 am. We are looking for new officers to take over for the coming year which begins right after the conclusion of the AZ/NM convention in August. Incoming District Presidents must submit a resume' and attend the convention to get officially installed.

The Yucca Council of Higher Degrees is also looking to get back into a regular meeting schedule, which are normally held after the District Meetings. We also need members to serve on the board and to representatives for their lodge and make reports to the Council on membership retention activities. The Council year ends December 31.

Come to your District meetings and find out what's going on in the other lodges and stay informed on information from our Association and Moose International.
