Once in a while a destination opens its doors & shows you something magical. Days in Bohinj are consumed by riding through river valleys & up and over forested ridge lines. Road conditions are impressive with grades appealing to all riding abilities - welcoming those new to climbing mountains or interested in renting an e-gravel bike for the week.

A quick glimpse into Slovenia Gravel 2027. Excitement was high coming into this scout mission, but the landscape, lake Bohinj, the mountains, and all around vibe of Slovenia’s outdoors is more than we could have imagined.

4 more days of scouting, drinking mountain water, lake swimming, and high alpine adventure continue. Slovenia Gravel 2027 launches live on our website, September 10th, 2026. ✌️

In the days leading up to our guests arrival, our team is putting the final touches on the week ahead, tasting menu items & gathering the food we need to eat well, nourish our souls & by way of food, become a little bit more connected to the place we’ve traveled so far to enjoy.

Having focused on sustainable agriculture during college, and a recent passion for Ayurvedic practices in the kitchen; Chef Zander Ault has made it his mission to further our understanding of seasonal food systems and how our bodies can feel and perform at their best because of it.

The crew heads back to Europe for our 2nd scout trip of 2026 & our annual Italy/Slovenia Road experience. ✌️

As Heidi shared some closing words with the crew last night over dinner we all realized we only saw one other cyclist in the forest this entire week. Mendocino Gravel truly feels like a private dirt road preserve, incredibly unique unto itself. ✨

That’s a wrap - 5 days of coastal redwoods & northern California’s finest seasonal foods. It’s always an honor being here, sharing this landscape with others.

Mendocino is where the power of the ocean & the magic of the mountains collide. We’ll be back for year 9, June 26-30, 2027, full (dog friendly) trip details at the link in our bio. ✌️
