Last night, we parked our car at The White House on Warren and then enjoyed experiencing our beautiful town.

We walked up and down the streets, admiring every historic house and business along the way before walking to dinner.

Within the past few months, several of our guests have shared that they are in town for work. We'd love to have even more out-of-town guests here for work because they help us to fill The White House on Warren during the week and they frequent local businesses! We always offer recommendations and encourage our guests to support our local businesses while they are in town.

About a year or so ago, someone from The CW reached out to share that they were intending to come to our area to film an episode for the series, Crime Nation. They shared they were looking for a central location to meet with people that they would be interviewing and they requested to use The White House on Warren.

At the time, we had no idea what crime they were investigating yet we were excited to make the property available to them and those they were interviewing. We've done everything possible to make The White House feel like home so we agreed and hoped they would feel comfortable in this setting. Filming took a bit longer than expected, so they also booked The Metcalf Mansion for an additional day to finish local filming. You can see both properties throughout the episode.

While we were very excited to have them book our places to host their interviews, we were surprised that the crime they were investigating was one of the most heartbreaking local stories that went national years ago… and one that involved a beautiful lady that our family knew when I was growing up in Meshoppen. Tammy was absolutely stunning, had the most genuine and warm smile, and was so kind to us/our family. I have only fond memories of Tammy and how wonderful she was every time we saw her in our family grocery store over the years.

With that history in mind, we are sharing this link because so many from our area followed this heartbreaking story from years ago and the episode just went live yesterday on The CW.

May God bless the families involved as they continue to heal from their loss and may they feel supported by their community. This morning, and with the recent release of this episode, we're praying for their families and will continue to pray for them. What strength and courage they displayed while speaking up and sharing about what they've experienced. Please join us in praying for their families as we can't imagine what they've gone through.

The study of local history continues....for those who LOVE local history, please help out!

Where in the world could this "life size portrait of the late Deemer Bidleman" be today?!😳

Deemer Bidleman was the blacksmith who moved to Tunkhannock from Bloomsburg in 1850 to work at the Gearhart Foundry on Warren Street....and he lived at 71 Warren Street, now know as this beautiful The White House on Warren! ❤️

Wyoming County Historical Society, Triton Hose Company #1 Station 7--Do you have any idea where this portrait is today? We'd love to see it so we could take a photo of it to hang at The White House on Warren!
