This historic, 444-mile scenic parkway links Natchez with Nashville and crosses some of the most beautiful terrain in the states of Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee. Open year-round for motorists, hikers and bikers, it provides visitors the opportunity for an unhurried trip through time. Maintained and administered by the National Park Service, the Parkway commemorates the most significant highway of the Old Southwest.

📰 Thank you to Good Grit Magazine for putting one of our favorite Trace stops on their 'Sleep Under the Stars' list of six Southern campsites worth planning a summer around. Their pick? Tishomingo State Park — right along the parkway in northeast Mississippi, where rock formations, waterfalls, and a swinging bridge over Bear Creek make you forget you're in Mississippi at all. Primitive sites, cabins, RV hookups, and Bear Creek floating all summer long. If you've been meaning to trade the hotel key for a tent zip, consider this your sign. Each spring, red poppies open like small flames along roadsides and old battlefields — a quiet bloom that has stood for remembrance since World War I and the words of the poem ' In Flanders Fields' written by officer Lt.-Col. John McCrae. Today, we honor every service member who gave their life for this country. Drive gently this Memorial Day. 🇺🇸❤️

📰 The Trace made Southern Living '25 Can't-Miss Road Trip Stops Across The South This Summer' — and the stop they spotlighted is one of our favorite off-the-radar gems: Windsor Ruins, just off the parkway near Port Gibson. Twenty-three Corinthian columns, rising out of the forest where an antebellum mansion once stood before fire took it in 1890. Free to visit, short walking path, and one of the most quietly powerful places on the Trace. Big thanks to writer Symiah Dorsey for the shoutout. 💚

One of our favorite stops near the Trace — the Iuka Drive-In. The last drive-in theater still operating in Mississippi is about 30 minutes off the northern end of the parkway. Showing movies under the stars since 1957, and still pulling in carloads in 2026.
Pair it with a slow drive down the Trace, and you've got yourself the perfect spring weekend. 🎬
