Backyard History

Backyard History We create short digital videos showcasing the hidden historical treasures passed over in "roadtrip t History can be interesting. Why? You're on ROADTRIP, say.

Nowadays, there's no appreciation for the stuff that really makes us who we are: Americans. People seem to forget that: when textbooks are forced on you, it's easy to do. People are always on the go, too. Even on vacation, it's "let's get to Point A to Point B in the shortest time possible." There's so much you could be missing in between. Perhaps you don't know about what awaits you in the tiny t

owns along the way. It's time we acknowledge America's story is an important one: from big cities to small towns. Let's rediscover what's made us... us. History can be exciting, trust us. We're a production company specializing in working with cities to share their historic treasures with the world. 2-5 minute videos will be produced for each point of interest and will be uploaded to the cities' websites, to make the planning of YOUR next vacation a bit simpler, and a lot more fun! Who we are:
ELAINE GABELL - Executive Producer
HEBA MOURADI-ARANDA - Associate Producer, Locations Manager
ANDREW GABELL - Director of Photography, Editor

Due to other events of 2020-21 (*ahem* COVID), we were unable to interview anyone on this topic in-person, but we did release our very first (and, yes, so far only) : an interview with Eastern Sierra author, and California native .atleework .

It is a delightful interview, filled with many enlightening moments about California past, present, and future. If you haven't yet, check it out on our YouTube. (No video, just audio.)
