neighbor update:
While this is an art project space and personal campground for myself and personal guests, when I looked at the zoning regulations for this plot in the which I could build as a theme park people could experience in ways that are in harmony with the landscape and ultimately serve a benefit to the community and saw I was legally permitted to camp on the land for four nights per month, I figured, “Oh what the hell, let me sign up for and only accept four nights worth of guests per month and I’ll be honoring the spirit of the zoning.

I know. This was dumb. No contest.

I had about one camper per month and I only charged $10. The “USA” of this place is my belief that this land (all of it) belongs to all of us first and foremost and that we belong to it.

So, I thought it would be nice to share the land so people could spend a night and experience the beauty of this place, which I think is most beautiful at night when the cosmos is on full display.

I advertised it as and basically used airbnb to vet them, keep away folks with trailers or large groups, keeping it to under 5. People who showed up and stayed loved it and I enjoyed the idea that just by paying attention to one spot on the map, I could create a shared experience for a growing group of people. Some showed up and saw a sketchy neighborhood and a barren lot and bailed.

I’m closing down that commercial business (airbnb is a scourge on communities, I just wanted to see what would happen if I advertised my lot like others I’ve seen done) and will just be using the lot for my personal camping with my guests.
