Pickleball just got an upgrade in Tybee Island as the city held a grand opening for brand new courts, providing a permanent place for residents and visitors who love the sport to play. The new court is at Memorial Park, one of two previous locations where people set up temporary nets to play.

The City of Tybee Island held a grand opening for a new set of courts, four pickleball courts and one tennis court to provide a permanent home for people to play, instead of the temporary courts that were being used before.

Built in 1848 and standing just 46 feet tall, this modest tower guided ships along the Savannah River for decades. It sits within Fort Pulaski National Monument and is best admired from the nearby trail or by kayak.
