This quilt patch was made to represent the American Flag. To her, the flag reminds her of the Veterans that gave her the freedom to religion, to go to school, and to live free everyday. As well as she hopes to contribute to her country by helping people in healthcare just like the Veterans do for her now.

Recently, we had a group of youth drop off their quilt squares for the Fayette County, PA 250th Quilt Project!

These youth are friends, family members, and neighbors whose loved ones wanted them to learn how to sew and be a part of the celebration. Each youth chose something that is important to them to be highlighted on the quilt.

It is great to see everyone participating in the project and helping create a lasting piece of Fayette County, PA history!

As Fayette County, PA continues to celebrate America's 250th birthday, we invite YOU to become the history and share your story about how you Discover Fayette PA.

This county-wide project is open to everyone — whether you have years of sewing experience or have never picked up a needle and thread before. Each quilt square will help tell the story of the people, places, memories, and traditions that make Fayette County special.

Participants are invited to create a quilt block that represents their personal connection to Fayette County. Every square submitted will become part of a commemorative quilt that will be displayed in Uniontown, PA, as a lasting tribute during the Fayette 250th celebration. Blocks will also be professionally photographed and digitally archived into a permanent collection.
