Big Cottonwood Canyon and Little Cottonwood Canyon are part of the Wasatch Mountain Range (the western edge of the Rocky Mountains). Little Cottonwood Canyon, which houses Alta and Snowbird Resorts, is a beautiful 40-minute drive from Big Cottonwood. Brighton and Solitude Resorts in Big Cottonwood Canyon are a 45-minute drive from Salt Lake City International Airport.
