I’ve been reliving our Italy trip for the last 2 weeks and still can’t believe how much we experienced in just 8 days.

We explored Rome by private golf cart tour, which gave us such a different perspective of the city.

We took the high-speed train to Naples and toured both Pompeii and the lesser-known Herculaneum.

We did the Underground Colosseum Tour, walked through the Roman Forum, visited the Vatican Museums and St. Peter’s Basilica, and stood inside the Pantheon.

We ate our way through Trastevere and met Susan from Boutique Escapes for dinner at the fabulous Virginae.

Italy definitely left us wanting more. Tuscany and Venice have to be next!

Did you know women fought at the Colosseum in Ancient Rome? It was rare, but it happened.

This mosaic shows a victorious female gladiator (known as a "gladiatrix") after defeating a tiger. A symbol appears above the animal, marking its death, along with the letter V for “vicit,” meaning the hunter won.

Still wild to think mosaics like this has survived over 1,800 years!

We’re home after spending 8 days in Rome and Naples. History, food, a lot of walking and it was worth every step. We're already working on plans for Tuscany and Venice!
