Thanks to a couple of indoor yard sales (through the Chamber) and some generous donors, I've now raised more than $1,300 for the upcoming Walk to End Alzheimer's! I might be crazy, but I'd like to reach the $2,500 goal again in honor of my mom, who lost her battle with Alzheimer's three years ago this week. Thank you to everyone who made our Vendor Showcase and Indoor Yard Sale a great success on Saturday, including our vendors, donors, volunteers, guests and town workers! Our vendors met a lot of great people, and our yard sale raised $642 for the Walk to End Alzheimer's! Special thanks to Rich who donated a beautiful, almost-new exercise bike to the yard sale ... an unexpected surprise!

Escape the heat today in the air-conditioned West Seneca Community Center & Library where we will hold our Vendor Showcase trade show and indoor yard sale (to benefit the Alzheimer's Walk) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come meet some local businesses and organizations ... and maybe find some treasures too!

St. David's Episcopal Church will host another BW's Ribs BBQ on Friday, Sept. 5 from 2:30 to 6 p.m. This is a drive thru event only. The meal consists of 1/4-rack of ribs, potato salad, cole slaw, roll and butter. The cost is $15, cash only. St. David's is located at 3951 Seneca St., across from the Erie County Auto Bureau.
