This Photo Friday, our theme is "Things you wouldn't see back home"!
One of the most exciting things about going somewhere new is getting to experience things that are completely unfamiliar. A gap year abroad gives you the chance to dive into a different way of life, and eventually, you might find yourself wondering how those places, customs, and even weird taco restaurants, ever seemed foreign to you in the first place!
Also, yes I had to throw in a photo of a taco from Otacos so you'd know what I'm talking about (yes those are fries in the taco, and yes it is actually so good 😆)

If you want to try a french taco for yourself, one way to do that is through Andégo's gap year program 😋 We offer homestays from two weeks to ten months in France, and also in Mexico (if you'd rather have an authentic mexican taco 😆)

Two generations of Andégoites!
Last week, Jazmyn and Amalia, who did their internships with Andégo in Mexico city last year, came to visit our new interns, Brooke and Avery!
We’re so happy to see them connecting and hope they had fun bonding over their shared experience as interns! We also hope Jazmyn and Amalia got to share some of their wisdom with the newbies and inspire them for the year ahead 😁

If you're interested in going abroad, check out our homestay and gap-year programs at www.andego.org! We have programs ranging from two weeks to ten months in France and Mexico.
Or, if you're interested in hosting an exchange student in the US, we also have homestay host-family opportunities in Washington and Oregon!

As promised, more photos of our interns' adventures in their new homes!
Even though it's only been a couple of weeks since they've arrived, they've already gotten to see and do some amazing things, like visit the pyramid of the Moon in Teotihuacán, check out the Poitiers l'été cultural festival, and hang out by their host family's backyard pool??!?! ( I'm especially jealous of that last one 😤)

As the school year starts up, we're also excited for everyone to make some long-lasting memories and connections with their host families, schools, and students 😊

Check out our website www.andego.org to learn more about how you can go abroad with Andégo! We have programs from two weeks to ten months in France and Mexico, as well as opportunities to host exchange students in the US :-)

Happy Friday! As our 26-27 interns are arriving in their new homes and settling in, they are starting to explore their new surroundings and find out what makes their city unique! So this week, our theme is "host city". They've been sharing so many cool photos that I think I will have to make two posts just to share them all! 🤣

If you're thinking of going abroad, and want to explore any of these places for yourself, check out our homestay and internship programs as www.andego.org!

This Friday, our theme is “rainy day”, because it’s nice to have a reminder that even when the weather seems gloomy, there’s a lot of beauty to be found!
It’s totally normal to feel homesick, discouraged by language barriers, or generally just have off days while living abroad. But just like a rainy day can make you see familiar place in a beautiful new way, challenging moments can also hold unexpected beauty!
I mean, just look at the Eiffel Tower in the rain 🤩

If you want to experience a unique year of growth, personal discovery, and adventure, check out our website www.andego.org to learn about our language homestays and internship programs!
We offer programs from 2-weeks to ten months, and also have host family programs if you’re interested in hosting a Spanish or French exchange student 😁

We are so excited for our new Andégoites, Brooke and Avery, as they begin their gap year internships in Mexico City!
They will both be spending their 10-month internships assisting at the Liceo Ibérico Americano's English department, sharing their language, culture, and enthusiasm with a group of Mexican high school students. During the year, they'll be immersed in daily life in Mexico, with the opportunity to explore the city and surrounding areas, make new friends, develop fluency in Spanish, and gain a deeper understanding of Mexican culture.
We can't wait to see what Brooke and Avery achieve and experience in the coming year ☺ ¡Éxito!

If you are also interested in a gap year abroad, check out our website, www.andego.org , to learn more about our internship programs in France and Mexico! We offer programs ranging from two weeks to ten months, as well as opportunities to host an French or Spanish exchange student in the US.

While there's a lot of time for our interns to explore and bond with their fellow Andégoites during orientation week, our workshops are also a really important time for them to prepare for the exciting year ahead.

During one of our workshops, two past interns join us to talk about:
1) “Saying ‘oui’” during their year to create community
2) Better understanding French culture and embracing our differences
3) Successfully becoming part of a host family and teaching team

During our two-day workshop hosted at the l’UCO (Université Catholique de l’Ouest), our interns learn all about the French school system, get an introduction to language teaching, and are given the opportunity to create some engaging lesson plans about the English language and English-speaking culture.

We'd like to give a huge thanks to Gabi, Gabrielle, and Scott for all their help during orientation!
Gabi spent the 24-25 academic year in Cholet, France, and is now starting her studies in Toulouse, France!
Gabrielle spent the 25-16 year in Angers, and is working hard to find any a way to stay in France long-term.
Scott spent his academic year in Annecy all the way back in 2018-19, and is now Andégo’s Language Assistant Liaison in France.
Thanks again for helping out, and for helping to prepare our new Andégoites for their 10-month journey of fun, growth, and self-discovery! 😊

Check out our website www.andego.org to learn more about how you can go abroad from anywhere from 2 weeks to ten months as a language intern in France or Mexico. If you are interested, we also have opportunities to host an exchange student in the US!
