I had the absolute PLEASURE of staying at the Lockwood Hotel last week for a quick little girls getaway with my cousin to Waterville, Maine.

What a beauty this sweet little hotel in Downtown Waterville is!

The Resturant Front & Main is to DIE for, we enjoyed both dinner Thursday night and breakfast Friday morning before we left.

The room was SWANKY! With super comfy beds, modern furnishings and a shower to die for, I cant recommend a stay here enough!

You may also be like, "But Waterville? Why?" Well, if you haven't been in a minute you should go check out downtown because she is charming, full of art galleries, shopping and delicious eats! Additionally, we had the best night at the Waterville Opera House enjoying Voyage: a Journey cover band! 😂

We had a great evening catching up and spending some much needed time togeather and I think everyone should go see what this cute little river town has to offer in Central Maine!

Travel Tip Tuesday: your cruise vacation does not really start on embarkation day. 🚢

It starts with how you get there.

If your cruise leaves on Saturday, I usually recommend arriving near the port on Friday whenever possible.

Why?
Because same-day travel leaves very little room for things to go wrong.

And travel days can come with plenty of surprises:
-flight delays
-missed connections
-weather issues
-cancelled flights
-traffic near the port
-baggage delays
-long shuttle or rideshare waits

The ship will not wait because your flight was late.

That is why a pre-cruise hotel night can be one of the smartest parts of the whole trip. You arrive with more breathing room, wake up already near the port, and start embarkation day feeling excited instead of panicked.

The goal is not just to get you on the ship.
It is to help you start the trip calmly, prepared, and ready to enjoy it.

To be honest, this has been booked since the second the ship went up for sale on October 14th for my Gold Castaway Club members on Disney Cruise Line! In true fashion, this family wanted to be among the lucky first to sail on Disney Cruise Line's newest ship, Disney Believe!

I think in the next year, this is the trip they are most excited a bout, and I'm so excited for them to have gotten on such a coveted sailing! They are TRUE Disney Cruise Line fans, and they deserve to experience this incredible ship as soon as they can!

The best Walt Disney World resort is not always the most popular one. It is the one that fits your family best. 🏰

Before choosing where to stay, it helps to think through what matters most:

Transportation:
Do you want monorail, Skyliner, walkability, or fewer bus rides?

Room size:
Does your family need more beds, separate sleeping areas, a suite, or a villa?

Resort experience:
Will the hotel be part of the vacation with pools, dining, recreation, and atmosphere?

Budget and value:
How much time will you actually spend there, and what amenities matter enough to pay for?

I need to actually ask this couple how many cruises they have been on because HOLY MOLY, I thought I had a lot under my belt. I bet they have been on so many they have lost count, and I LOVE IT!

Next up for them is a sailing on the Celebrity Equinox to Hawaii...yes...THAT FREAKING HAWAII! I am so stinking excited for them because in my opinion, the best way to see Hawaii is from the water. Unpack once, island hop for 16 days.... it's amazing!

🚨I am officially OUT OF OFFICE!🚨

I'm heading to my home away from home, St. Petersburg, Florida, for the weekend after a quick pit stop for a girls' night with my cousin!

I will be soaking in this view and the 80-degree temps because you all know the best version of me is the Florida version of me (at least in my opinion!)
