When local Lava Bear football (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100063768121846) coaching legend Craig Walker retired, he wanted a local quilter to commemorate his twenty-three seasons of coaching with a memory quilt.

During his tenure, Coach Walker guided the Lava Bears to eight Intermountain Conference titles and five state quarterfinal appearances. But more than that, Coach Walker taught generations of young men to play with Total Release: a mindset of service, selflessness, and self-worth.

This quilt was made as a gift for my client's husband after his mother had passed. She was an avid quilter in life and, like so many of us quilters, she left behind many unfinished projects. I incorporated some of her orphan blocks as well as her clothing to create this very personalized memory quilt.

Happy National Mushroom Day!

I recently took a quick break from sewing to get out into the forest and forage, and I was absolutely enchanted by what I found! First, I ran across a mighty King Boletus pushing up a branch as it grew, and then I found a delicious bunch of Chanterelles: my favorite eating mushrooms of all time!
