9 days until I visit Sandals Royal Bahamian.

The most common thing couples tell me is that they don't have enough time off for a real getaway. Destinations with short flights, like Nassau, change that math.

This trip is about seeing firsthand whether this resort delivers for clients who have only a few days. I'll share what I learn.

Would you believe this is on a cruise ship?

This is Central Park on Royal Caribbean's Oasis Class ships, an open-air garden full of real trees, vines, and flowers right in the middle of the ship. Couples come here for a quiet morning coffee, and families come for a slow stroll after dinner. It's the calm side of a big ship.

A quick tip I share with my clients: you can book a balcony stateroom that overlooks this garden. It's peaceful and private, and it's often easier on the budget than an ocean view.

Message me "PARK" and I'll help you find the right Oasis Class ship and stateroom for your travel style.

Please allow me to reintroduce myself!

If you’re new here, welcome! I’m Chris, your neighborhood travel professional behind Vacations By Chris, in partnership with Creating Magic Vacations.

Before becoming a travel advisor, I spent 15 years in the aviation industry. Between that experience and my own travels, I learned how much the details matter—from making a connection to choosing the right place to stay.

In October 2018, I became a travel advisor. Eight years later, my favorite part is still helping couples and families turn “we should go somewhere” into a vacation they’ll remember.

Here’s what working with me looks like:

A real conversation. We’ll talk about who’s traveling, your budget, what you enjoy, and what would make this trip feel like yours.

Options that fit you. I plan Disney and Universal vacations, all-inclusive getaways, cruises, and custom Europe trips.

Less homework for you. I handle the research, comparisons, and logistics so you can spend more time looking forward to your vacation.

Someone in your corner. I’m here before, during, and after your trip. When plans change, I know your arrangements and can help you work through the next steps.

Complimentary planning services.

A client recently told me they weren’t stressed about any of the arrangements—they just got to enjoy themselves. That’s exactly what I want for you.

This page is home base for our Traveler Nation. You’ll find destination insights, resort overviews, practical travel tips, and new travel opportunities—with a familiar person to reach out to when you’re ready.

Where’s the next spot on your travel wish list? Drop it in the comments! And if you’re ready to start planning, send me a message. I’d love to help.

Can a Disney vacation actually feel like a vacation for the grown-ups too?

When we stayed at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa on Oahu, we had a full list of island excursions planned. Then we arrived, and I didn't want to go anywhere. Every time we left to explore, I honestly felt guilty leaving the property.

No rides, no park tickets, no lines. Just the lazy river, swimming in the lagoon , a traditional luau , and Mickey in his aloha shirt.

My tip: book more nights at Aulani than you think you need, and keep excursions to the one or two that matter most.

So, can a Disney vacation feel like a vacation for the grown-ups too? At Aulani, absolutely. In my opinion, it's the best Disney resort in the world.

If Hawaii is on your travel list, send me a message and let's plan your stay. 🌺

Do you have a favorite Disney resort?

Here's something most guests miss: where you stay shapes your whole Disney trip. Wilderness Lodge gives you a quieter home base, a boat to Magic Kingdom, and a lobby worth slowing down for.

Choosing the right resort is one of the first things we talk through together, and it's always complimentary.

I priced Royal Caribbean’s Utopia of the Seas for spring break 2027: an oceanview balcony cabin for a family of four. Look at how much the total changes depending on the week you choose. March 1–5 starts at $1,685, while some late-March and early-April sailings climb past $4,000.

Here’s what most families don’t realize:
✔️ The week your school is out is the week everyone else’s school is out, too. That’s what drives the price up.
✔️ The 3-night sailings can sometimes cost more than the 4-night ones, so “shorter” doesn’t always mean “less expensive.”
✔️ Balcony cabins are usually some of the first to go for spring break, because once families experience having their own outdoor space at sea, they don’t want to go back.

That balcony matters more than you’d think. It’s your morning coffee spot while the kids are still asleep, and the place where everyone winds down after a full day of slides, pools, and island time.

This is Cove Café, an adults-only lounge tucked next to Quiet Cove, the adults-only pool area. The kids are off having the time of their lives at the kids' clubs, and you've got a quiet spot with comfy chairs, big ocean windows, and a latte made just the way you like it.

Both are amazing, but they’re very different trips. Here’s how I explain it when a family asks me.A Disney Cruise is the...

Both are amazing, but they’re very different trips. Here’s how I explain it when a family asks me.

A Disney Cruise is the “unpack once” vacation. Your meals, nightly shows, and kids’ clubs are part of the fare, so you’re not making a dozen decisions every day. The kids get their own adventures while you finally get that slow cup of coffee on deck. Two private island stops mean beach days without planning a beach day.

Walt Disney World is the “go-go-go” vacation. Fireworks over the castle, rides the kids have been talking about for months, and character moments around every corner. You’ll walk more and plan more, but for many families, that energy is exactly the point.

Here’s what most people miss: the price you see isn’t the whole story. For this sample family of four, the cruise came in about $1,100 less, but each option includes different things. Park tickets, dining, gratuities, port transportation, and excursions can shift that gap quickly in either direction. That’s where I come in. I lay both side by side so you can compare what you’re actually getting, not just the number at the bottom.

So I’m curious, Traveler Nation: are you a CRUISE family or a CASTLE family? Drop your answer below 👇

And if you’re torn between the two, send me a message. My planning is complimentary, and I’ll help you find the kind of magic that fits your family.

Four or five people, one bathroom, and dinner in 15 minutes. Sound familiar?

Most Disney cruise family staterooms fix that with a **split bathroom**:
- One room with the toilet and a sink
- One room with the tub/shower and a second sink

Someone showers, someone brushes their teeth, and nobody's waiting outside the door. (Bonus: a real tub for the little ones!)

It's one of those details you won't notice online, but you'll love by day two. Message me and I'll help you find the right stateroom for your crew.

Traveling with a bigger crew? Here's my favorite setup.

On my recent Disney cruise, we booked two connecting verandah staterooms. One door in the corner opens up both rooms into one big family space.

During the day the door stays open, so everyone can hang out together. At night you close it. The kids get their own room, and you still get your own bed, bathroom and balcony. This works well for families of five or more, or when Grandma and Grandpa come along.

Connecting rooms are limited and go fast, and booking sites don't always make it easy to make sure you actually get them. I handle that for you, and my planning is complimentary.

Message me "CONNECT" and let's find the right setup for your family. 💙
