What if the ghost stories didn’t stop at one house? 👀

Winston-Salem’s Historic West End has collected more than a few stories over the years.

There’s the Rosenbacher House, the Miller Carriage House, and Grace Court, each with its own history and tales of unexplained happenings.

We’re only scratching the surface here.

Carolina History & Haunts dives much deeper into these stories, along with plenty more from the neighborhood, on their West Endings Tour. 👻

Which one would you want to hear the full story behind?

Cancel the “what should we eat?” debate. Restaurant Week starts TODAY, Winston-Salem! 🍽️🙌

We asked the people behind the menus where they’re going, with one rule: you can’t pick your own restaurant. Then we followed their picks around the room. 👀

Now your dinner plans come with a restaurant-owner recommendation.

Eat Drink Triad Restaurant Week runs October 23–November 1, featuring these local favorites and more across 25 participating restaurants.

Who’s your first stop?

The fourth and final mystery is officially out of the bag. 💀

For our last weekly giveaway, we’re heading to The Boho Depot in Winston-Salem’s Historic West End, a colorful local shop filled with crystals, clothing, jewelry, gifts, home décor, and all kinds of wonderfully unexpected finds.

And they saved us a good one for the finale.

One winner will take home a crystal skull valued at $75.

If you entered during any of the first three weeks, you’re already eligible. Your original entry carries through to the final drawing.

New to the series? This is your last chance to get in. Enter by Thursday, Oct. 29.

Mystery #3 is officially lit. 🕯️👻

This week we’re teaming up with Kin & Cottage, a Downtown Winston-Salem fragrance shop filled with Southern-inspired scents, seasonal favorites, and products made right in the shop.

For this week’s prize, they’ve wrapped up two mystery Halloween candles, valued at $28 each.

And when we say mystery, we mean it.

They’re wrapped.

We don’t know what scents are inside either. 😂

If you entered during Weeks 1 or 2, you’re already eligible. No need to enter again.

New to the series? Enter by Thursday, Oct. 22, and your one entry keeps you in the running for the final mystery too.

Would you have dinner in a house that might not be completely empty? 👀

Spring House Restaurant sits inside the 1920 Bahnson House, the last surviving mansion from Winston-Salem’s former “Millionaire’s Row.”

And over the years, reports of strange sounds and unexplained activity have become part of the house’s story. 👻

Today, you can experience it yourself over dinner or a drink in the Library Bar.

So… does the ghost story make you MORE likely to make a reservation or less?

Mystery #2 comes with a plot twist. 📚👀

This week’s partner is The Bookhouse, an independent bookstore and community gathering space tucked into Reynolda Village. It’s the kind of place where you can browse for your next read, grab a coffee or a glass of w**e, and stay awhile.

For this week’s mystery, they’re giving one winner a bundle of books pulled straight from their thriller section. 👻

If you entered during Week 1, you’re already eligible. No need to enter again.

Haven’t joined yet? Enter by Thursday, Oct. 15, and your one entry keeps you in the running for all remaining weekly drawings.

And while we’re here: what thriller would you recommend to someone who says they “don’t read thrillers”?

What if your hotel was part of the experience instead of just somewhere to sleep?

West Salem Art Hotel brings together lodging, original art, and creative spaces in Winston-Salem’s historic West Salem neighborhood.

Each guest space has a personality of its own, from colorful artist-designed rooms to the VHS Suite filled with hundreds of tapes. The property also serves as a gallery and creative gathering space, with exhibitions, workshops, receptions, and special events throughout the year.

So yes, it fits spooky season beautifully, but this is a place you can experience year-round.

And right now, there’s an extra reason to put it on your list: a two-night stay at West Salem Art Hotel is part of our Not That Salem Giveaway. 👻

Watch the Reel, choose your room, then enter for your chance to stay here yourself.

Would you spend the night somewhere guests have reported hearing footsteps outside empty rooms? 👀

The Historic Brookstown Inn dates back to 1837, when the building operated as a cotton mill.

One of its best-known legends is the story of Sally, a mill worker said to have died after falling from an upper floor following an argument with another employee.

Years later, guests have reported a pale woman in the hallways, footsteps outside their rooms, and even the sound of a woman crying for mercy.

Most of the stories seem to lead to the fourth floor and Room 401. 👻

So… are you staying the night?
