🍁As we welcome the fall I'm thrilled to welcome you to season four of Whispers at the Garden Gate: Voices of New England. 🍂
This season, we are closing out our celebration of America's 250th anniversary with our themed literary series: The Literary Heart of New England: The Stories Beneath the Splendor.📜
This theme is deeply personal to me. As I celebrate 25 years in the United States, and watch my own firstborn start college this year, I am returning to the very classic stories that gave a young girl traveling across the globe with a hand-sewn duffle bag the courage to build a new life. ✈️🧳🗽
Together we'll dive into the lives, works, and legacy of some of America's most iconic authors who shaped this cultural identity.
🍂Louisa May Alcott - Little Women
🍃Nathaniel Hawthorne - The Scarlet Letter
🌻Edith Wharton - The Age of Innocence
🌹Emily Dickinson - Poetry
🍁Henry Wadsworth Longfellow - Poetry
We'll enjoy themed book giveaways and literary discussions with an incredible lineup of special guests, starting this Sunday with one of my favorite historical fiction authors, a New Englander herself, Heather Webb.
I would love for you to join us, just follow the link in bio to watch this and prior seasons in our video library or listen on your favorite podcast app.
Because I want to make these inspiring stories accessible to everyone, all of our episodes, interviews, and giveaways are completely free to enjoy with no paywalls, subscriptions, or fees.
☕️Just put the kettle on, grab a cozy blanket (I can say that now that the weather in Texas finally resembles autumnal temperatures ☺️ and let's travel back in time together.
